Pat Sterling, Postpartum Doula

Pat started working with families as a nanny 20 years ago. After her first few years as a nanny, she became certified as a postpartum doula to focus her skills on her love for taking care of newborns as well as caring for parents during their newborn transition.

She loves being around kids and seeing how their curiosity leads to adventures, even in infancy. Pat loves to foster their growth as each child shapes their own skills. To her, she loves both nanny work and doula work, but especially loves doula support to be able to reassure new parents and help them learn and understand the care of their newborn.

As a doula, she helps give parents rest, and find a routine for daily life. Parents draw from her decades of experience for tips, resources and wisdom. Being a calming presences adds reassurance to any tricky situations that might arise and helps parents more easily see their baby’s rhythms and needs.

She aims to ease the pressures off of the mother and father so they can rest, and be encouraged that they have exactly what their baby needs from them.
